Zatvaranje 18. Epidaurus Cavtat Festivala uz dvije veličanstvene dive

Ksenija Prohaska i Milka Podrug-Kokotović izmamile i suze i smijeh mnogobrojne publike

Završna večer 18. Epidaurus Cavtat Festivala donijela je emotivan i nezaboravan nastup dviju ikona hrvatskog kazališta – Ksenije Prohaska i Milke Podrug-Kokotović. U intimnom ambijentu Teatra Epidaurus, Domu kulture Cavtat, publika je uživala u kombinaciji poezije, glazbe i pregršt anegdota koje su dotaknule srca svih prisutnih.

Ksenija Prohaska briljirala je svojim dojmljivim glazbeno-poetskim nastupom, odajući počast djelima velikana poput Lorce ili pak Nerude, te evocirajući strast i bol ‘nikad prežaljenog’ flamenca, dok je večer otvorila nezaboravnom izvedbom pjesme ‘Gracias a la vida’. Publika je saznala i to kako će Ksenija uskoro izdati i zbirku svoje poezije, čemu se neizmjerno veselimo.

Tijekom nastupa, prisjetila se svog prvog susreta s Milkom Podrug-Kokotović, kojeg je doživjela kroz ekran gledajući legendarni ‘Libar Marka Uvodića’.

– Kada sam je prvi put ugledala, znala sam da želim biti glumica. Milka me nadahnula tada, a inspirira me i danas – prisjetila se Ksenija emotivno – Zajedno smo radile u predstavama ‘Bjegunka’ i ‘Nosi nas voda’ – nezaboravno! – emotivno je istaknula naša svjetski poznata glumica.

Milka Podrug-Kokotović, ispunjena emocijama, pridružila se na pozornici Doma kulture svojoj ‘partnerici’ iz ‘Bjegunki’, dijeleći sa publikom niz anegdota iz kazališta i privatnog života, sve uz britak humor. S posebnim osmijehom prisjetila se kako je uvijek imala ‘Miša’ u životu – njen suprug Mišo Kokotović je jedan, a drugi dugogodišnji suradnik, naš legendarni glumac Miše Martinović, čija je kćer Perica bila među brojnom publikom ove posebne večeri.

Milka Podrug-Kokotović poznata je po svojoj dugoj i bogatoj karijeri, koja obuhvaća uloge od tragičnih heroina do komičnih likova, a u hrvatskom kazalištu ostavila je neizbrisiv trag, osobito na Dubrovačkim ljetnim igrama od 1964. godine. Rođena u Dicmu 1930. godine, svoju profesionalnu karijeru započela je u Dubrovniku, gdje i danas djeluje u Kazalištu Marina Držića. Podrug-Kokotović igrala je brojne nezaboravne uloge u domaćim filmovima i serijama, a kritičari
i kazališni znalci hvale njezino glumačko umijeće i bogatu scensku prisutnost. Za svoj dugogodišnji rad osvojila je brojna priznanja i nagrade, uključujući nagradu za životno djelo.

Ksenija Prohaska, jednako istaknuta hrvatska glumica, u Zagrebu je završila Akademiju kazališnih umjetnosti, a tijekom karijere ostvarila je brojne zapažene uloge, kako na kazališnim daskama, kroz različite uloge klasičnog kazališnog repertoara: od grčkih tragedija do Shakespearea, Goldonija, Lorce, Ibsena, Strindberga… Veliko priznanje doživljava za ulogu Nevjeste u Lorcinoj Krvavoj svadbi. Priznanja doživljava i na filmovima kao što su legendarni “Gosti iz galaksije” oskarovca Dušana Vukotića i “Bugsy” s Warrenom Beattyjem, koji su pridonijeli njezinoj svjetskoj slavi. Povratak u Hrvatsku označio je i njezin trijumf na domaćim kazališnim scenama, gdje se istaknula u ulogama kao što su Filumena Marturano i Marlene Dietrich.

Nastupom na Teatru Epidaurusa, obje su glumice još jednom dokazale svoju veličinu i umjetničku snagu, oduševivši prisutne dojmljivim izvedbama i osobnim pričama. Večer je završila s nostalgijom i obećanjem – novi susret na 19. izdanju festivala, u iščekivanju nove zanimljive predstave.

Epidaurus Cavtat Festival još jednom je pokazao zašto je nezaobilazno kulturno događanje nanjugu Hrvatske, a završnica s legendarnim glumicama Ksenijom Prohaska i Milkom Podrug – Kokotović zauvijek će ostati u srcima svih prisutnih. Vidimo se dogodine, u 19. izdanju ovog značajnog kulturno-umjetničkog manifesta na jugu Hrvatske.

Tears & Laughter With Ksenija Prohaska and Milka Podrug-Kokotović

The final evening of the 18th Epidaurus Cavtat Festival brought us an emotional and unforgettable performance by two icons of Croatian theater – Ksenija Prohaska and Milka Podrug-Kokotović. In the intimate setting of the Epidaurus Theater at the Cavtat Cultural Center, the audience enjoyed a blend of poetry, music, and anecdotes that touched the hearts of all present.

Ksenija Prohaska showed her impressive musical and poetic performance, paying tribute to the works of great poets like Lorca and Neruda, evoking the passion and sorrow of the flamenco. She opened the evening with an unforgettable rendition of ‘Gracias a la vid’a. The audience also learned that Ksenija is soon to release her own poetry, a project to which we all eagerly look forward.

During her performance, she recalled her first encounter with Milka Podrug-Kokotović, which she experienced through the screen while watching the legendary ‘Libar Marka Uvodića’.

‘When I first saw her, I knew I wanted to become an actress. Milka inspired me then and continues to inspire me today,’ Ksenija emotionally recalled, ‘We worked together on the plays ‘Bjegunke’ and ‘Nosi nas voda’—unforgettable!’, she highlighted with emotion, sharing with the audience a fond memory of her career.

Milka Podrug-Kokotović, filled with emotions yet full of humor, joined her ‘partner’ from Bjegunke on stage, sharing a series of anecdotes from the theater and her private life, all with her trademark sharp wit. She particularly delighted the audience with a story about how she always had at least one ‘Mišo’ in her life – her husband Mišo Kokotović was one, and the other was long- time collaborator, the legendary actor Miše Martinović, whose daughter Perica was among the audience during this special evening.

Milka Podrug-Kokotović is renowned for her long and distinguished career, encompassing roles ranging from tragic heroines to comic characters, leaving an indelible mark on Croatian theater, especially at the Dubrovnik Summer Festival since 1964. Born in Dicmo in 1930, she began her professional career in Dubrovnik, where she still performs at the Marin Držić Theater. Podrug- Kokotović has played numerous unforgettable roles in domestic films and TV series, with critics and theater experts praising her acting prowess and rich stage presence. Throughout her long career, she has won numerous awards and honors, including a lifetime achievement award.

Ksenija Prohaska, an equally distinguished Croatian actress, graduated from the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb and has had many acclaimed roles, from classical theater repertoire including Greek tragedies to Shakespeare, Goldoni, Lorca, Ibsen, and Strindberg. She received great acclaim for her role as the Bride in Lorca’s Blood Wedding. She also gained international recognition with films such as Visitors from the Galaxy (filmed in Dubrovnik!), directed by
Oscar-winner Dušan Vukotić, and Bugsy, starring Warren Beatty. Her return to Croatia marked a triumphant re-entry into domestic theater, where she shone in roles such as Filumena Marturano and Marlene Dietrich.

By performing at the Epidaurus Theater, both actresses once again demonstrated their artistic power and greatness, leaving the audience captivated with their impressive performances and personal stories. The evening concluded with nostalgia and a promise—a new encounter at the 19th edition of the festival, with a new exciting play to look forward to.

The Epidaurus Cavtat Festival once again proved why it is an unmissable cultural event in southern Croatia, and the finale with the legendary actresses Ksenija Prohaska and Milka Podrug – Kokotović will forever remain in the hearts of all present.
